Pricing snow removal: per push or per season
How to measure lots and choose between per push and seasonal pricing for snow contracts.
You price snow removal by measuring the area you will clear and choosing a billing model, either per push or a flat seasonal rate. Per push bills for each visit; a seasonal contract trades that for predictable revenue and the weather risk that comes with it. Both start from an accurate measurement of the lot.
Measure the lots and drives
Trace the parking lots and driveways you will plow on satellite imagery. The area sets your time on site and your rate, whether you bill per push or per season.
Per push pricing
Per push charges for each clearing event, often scaled to snowfall depth. It matches revenue to work, which protects you in a heavy winter and costs the customer more when storms come often.
Seasonal pricing
A seasonal contract is one flat price for the winter. The customer gets a predictable bill, and you get revenue locked in before the first storm. Estimate a typical season from past snowfall and build in a cushion for a bad year.
- Per push: lower risk for you, variable cost for the customer.
- Seasonal: predictable revenue, weather risk you carry.
- Many businesses offer both and let the customer choose.
